Britney Spears - Piece of Me

Britney's new single Piece of Me

The reason I posted it in my blog is because the Philippines is mentioned! ;-D

Here is the lyrics:

Piece of Me
Britney Spears

I’m Miss American Dream since I was 17
Don’t matter if I step on the scene
Or sneak away to the Philippines
They still gon' put pictures of my derrière in the magazine
You want a piece of me?
You want a piece of me...

I’m Miss bad media karma
Another day another drama
Guess I can’t see the harm
In working and being a mama
And with a kid on my arm
I’m still an exceptional earner
And you want a piece of me

I’m Mrs. Lifestyles of the rich and famous
(You want a piece of me)
I’m Mrs. Oh my God that Britney’s Shameless
(You want a piece of me)
I’m Mrs. Extra! Extra! this just in
(You want a piece of me)
I’m Mrs. she’s too big now she’s too thin
(You want a piece of me)

I’m Mrs. ‘You want a piece of me?’
Tryin’ and pissin’ me off
Well get in line with the paparazzi
Who’s flippin’ me off
Hopin’ I’ll resort to some havoc
End up settlin’ in court
Now are you sure you want a piece of me?
(You want a piece of me)

I’m Mrs. ‘Most likely to get on the TV for slippin' on the streets’
When getting the groceries, no, for real..
Are you kidding me?
No wonder there's panic in the industry
I mean please, do you want a piece of me?

I’m Mrs. Lifestyles of the rich and famous
(You want a piece of me)
I’m Mrs. Oh my God that Britney’s Shameless
(You want a piece of me)
I’m Mrs. Extra! Extra! this just in
(You want a piece of me)
I’m Mrs. she’s too big now she’s too thin
(You want a piece of me)

I’m Miss American Dream since I was 17
Don’t matter if I step on the scene
Or sneak away to the Philippines
They still gon' put pictures of my derrière in the magazine
You want a piece of me?
You want a piece, piece of me...

You want a piece of me?

I’m Mrs. Lifestyles of the rich and famous
(You want a piece of me)
I’m Mrs. Oh my God that Britney’s Shameless
(You want a piece of me)
I’m Mrs. Extra! Extra! this just in
(You want a piece of me)
I’m Mrs. she’s too big now she’s too thin
(You want a piece of me)

I’m Mrs. Lifestyles of the rich and famous
(You want a piece of me)
I’m Mrs. Oh my God that Britney’s Shameless
(You want a piece of me)
I’m Mrs. Extra! Extra! this just in
(You want a piece of me)
I’m Mrs. she’s too big now she’s too thin
(You want a piece of me)

Oh yeah
You want a piece of me

Square Shaped Melons!?!?!?!

I know it sounds awkward but it's true! Japanese farmers forced the melons to grow in a box (the one in the second picture) so that transportation and storage of the fruit can be done easily.

ROX is open!

Ok, I know this is a late post so please forgive me because this is the first time I am updating my blog in a month.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This event was attended by numerous celebrities and ambassadors, some just stayed for a while while others joined the party. Examples of celebrities were Diether Ocampo, Romi Garduce, the Philippine Star journalists and lots more! Ambassadors includes the British & French ambassadors and Politicians include Mar Roxas among others.
The event was oozing with drinks and scrumptious meals accompanied by music from bands. One particular band that deserves a spot in my article is the Kadangyan band, which promotes Indigenous Filipino music blended with some western influence to form an original genre which I think is great! They are not like other Filipino bands who are so trying hard to imitate American bands!
I also want to share to all of you this specific drink, its a beer actually, but its totally different for Filipino standards if you know what I mean ;-)
It's probably 7 to 10 times stronger than the average Filipino beer! I just drank a little bit about 1 gulp then after 20 seconds I felt my ear and cheeks were hot little that I notice that my face is turning red especially my ears! The name of the beer is Coors .
By the way ROX is a store for all your outdoor sporting needs. So if you are an enthusiast in any outdoor sport, this is the place to be!
Here are some Pictures and Videos from the event with captions!
CEG & Study to Immigrate New Zealand Seminars
My will to study abroad pushed my eagerness to attend both seminars, after all it will inform you, give some insights on studying abroad, and the most wonderful reason for attending this seminar is absolutely free! Yes FREE! And who knows I might stumble upon a scholarships offer which I might try to apply. :-)
This seminar is all about the commonwealth countries (particularly UK, Canada, Australia, & New Zealand), which tries to give the Filipinos some alternative options in education destination rather than the O' so inevitable "USA" which is clearly the first choice of most Filipinos. They give you insights on why should you study in their country. For example Canada claims that the cost of living & education in their country is significantly lower than the US or other prominent educational countries. In this seminar you can ask questions regarding any subject to university or institution representatives from all of the participating countries. They would give you suggestions, comments, & free glossy or decent brochures about their school.
The CEG seminar was held at Hotel Dusit Nikko, while the Study to immigrate of New Zealand is catered at the Shangri-La Hotel Makati
In my opinion New Zealand is my first choice. Why? because the environment is clean, quality education based on the British system, if you study their you would be in the fast track on being a New Zealander, great job opportunities & because I simply adore that country! :D
How Addicted to Coffee Are You?
Ok I know I scored quite low this time but believe me last year I'm pretty sure that I score really high because now my drinking consumption has been lowered because I'm still young (16 years old now, 15 last year, & I started drinking it when I was 12) and the doctor told me to refrain from drinking caffeine based drinks because I was hospitalize last year of gastritis which you can acquire from skipping meals and a lot of stress!
The Fallen by Thomas Sniegoski
I already finished this book 2 months ago but I'll still post a review here.
5 stars! This book will never fail your expectations. It's pure reading pleasure from the first page to the last. It also entices you to read the remaining 3 books of the series which I'm dying to start turning the pages and wonder upon whats gonna happen (unfortunately I had lost the second book of the series hehe)
This book is about Aaron Corbet who just turned eighteen & is about to embark into a journey of a lifetime!
It all started when Aaron had a dream about a dark violent landscape. The area was engulfed by the sounds of weapons clanging, and the screams of the helpless. He then noticed in his dream that there were angels in armors who are descending into the battlefield. Little did he know that he was half angel or a Nephilim.
Then Aaron's journey continues. Fighting angels who try to destroy him, leaving his beloved ones behind and tries to find his step brother who was been abducted by the Powers.
Will he ever find his step brother again? Will Aaron still be seeing his beloved Vilma Santiago? Will he make the prophecy come true? We can only find the answers in the three remaining books by Thomas Sneigoski.
Ugly Betty Mania!
I love this show! It's comedy & drama fused together to form the perfect prime time show you will surely never want to miss
It's about this girl named Betty who's will to succeed in life is never been affected by the prejudices being blown to her. But of course not all of the people notices her ugly physical appearance, they see her inner beauty instead.
I highly recommend you folks to watch Ugly Betty from season 1 to 2. Season 1 is already in DVD and Season 2 is currently being aired. You can also watch all of the episodes at abc.com, video on demand section
Here is a clip from season 2 which is my favorite so far in this series, Enjoy!
warning this is a spoiler if you haven't watched the series yet!
My First Visit to TriNoMa
I have three letters' to say, W - O - W!
Even though this mall is still not completely finished the inside is really astonishing!
TriNoMa which stands for "Triangle North of Manila" incorporates all the previously built Ayala malls. It's like a fusion of Glorrieta, Greenbelt, Ayala Cebu, and all the others.
I specially love the part where most of the cafes are located, you know the Garden at the top floor (see the pictures & videos I had inserted) which is so serene and full of water features! This area is best viewed at night which apparently I haven't taken any pictures yet. Nevertheless its still a worthwhile experience. ;-)
The Travel Club is one of the projects my father just recently finished (Our family Company is all about lightings and installation)
Oh! Did I mentioned to y'all that the lady in the black suit in this pictures is Miss Jessica Soho (a famous TV presenter in the Philippines)? I swear it's really her. Its blurred because I was to far from her that's why I zoomed my camera to the greatest extent.
Woah! The wonders of outer space. Sometimes I feel like I want to be an astronaut so that I can travel, live, & play in space like the astronauts in the International Space Station (ISS). They always experience breath taking views of the earth and the outer space.
Maybe in the future there would be housing real estates in the space! Wouldn't that be nice? Hehe ;-)
The Nerd? Geek? or Dork? Test
So here are my results! The results is no surprise to me because I know it from the very start that I'm quite a Nerdy, Geeky, & Dorky person.
Your Score: Outcast Genius
73 % Nerd, 56% Geek, 65% Dork
For The Record:
A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.
A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.
A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.
You scored better than half in all three, earning you the title of: Outcast Genius.
Outcast geniuses usually are bright enough to understand what society wants of them, and they just don't care! They are highly intelligent and passionate about the things they know are *truly* important in the world. Typically, this does not include sports, cars or make-up, but it can on occassion (and if it does then they know more than all of their friends combined in that subject).
Outcast geniuses can be very lonely, due to their being outcast from most normal groups and too smart for the room among many other types of dorks and geeks, but they can also be the types to eventually rule the world, ala Bill Gates, the prototypical Outcast Genius.
Congratulations!
Erap Guilty of Plunder!
Alas! Erap was convicted guilty. In my opinion, it serves him right!
Here is an article taken from the New York Times:
By Carlos H. Conde
MANILA, Wednesday, Sept. 12 — A Philippine anticorruption court on Wednesday convicted a former Philippine president, Joseph Estrada, of illegally acquiring wealth while in office and sentenced him to a maximum of 40 years imprisonment .
The court found Mr. Estrada guilty of plunder, but acquitted him on a perjury charge.
The court also ordered the confiscation of several properties, including mansions, that he acquired while in power. The plunder case stemmed from accusations that he received more than $85 million in kickbacks from tobacco taxes, commissions from the purchase of shares by a government insurance fund and payoffs from illegal gambling operators, and that he used a fictitious name in a bank account. The perjury case stemmed from charges that he misstated his income.
Mr. Estrada, 70, has been in detention for more than six years. He was ousted in an uprising prompted by the charges, as well as accusations of womanizing and heavy drinking in the presidential palace. Those allegations deeply offended the Catholic Church, which led, along with so-called civil society groups and leftist organizations, huge demonstrations against him.
The current president, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, who was Mr. Estrada’s vice president, took over the presidency after his ouster in 2001.
Mr. Estrada, a former movie star who is hugely popular among the Filipino poor, has repeatedly denied the accusations, saying they were politically motivated. He accused the business elite, the Catholic Church and the civil society groups for conspiring against him.
On the Verge of Something Wonderful By Darren Hayes
I had recently been addicted to this song. Check the lyrics out ;-)
On the Verge of Something Wonderful By Darren Hayes
A serpent, a rabbit,
A walk in the forest,
A tentative looking sun.
A feeling, a moment,
A bursting of bubbles,
A panic to overcome.
A samurai, an angel,
An eloquent table,
An AC that does not work.
A road trip, a car wreck,
A paperback novel,
A lover who ain't been hurt.
When you let me go, now I'm on my way,
When the world below, is cold and grey.
On the verge of, on the verge of something wonderful.
A resurgence, on the edge of something wonderful.
For it, against it,
Said he'd never meant it, but Harry still dropped the bomb,
A trip to the dentist, the Hollywood black list,
A moment that time forgot.
When you let me go, now I'm on my way,
When the world below, is cold and grey.
On the verge of, on the verge of, something wonderful.
At the edge of, on the verge of, something wonderful.
You can dance in the devil's shoes, you like walking in heels,
There's a decent living to be made in the selling out of ideals,
You can lose your way in the big city,
Get distracted and lost and feel pretty, Ohh, Ohh...
I want you, I need you,
I don't wanna please you, or belong to anyone.
But life is for leading, for not people pleasing,
A race that has never been won.
When you let me go, when I'm on my way,
When the world below, is cold and grey.
On the verge of, on the verge of something wonderful.
At the edge of, on the verge of something wonderful.
On the verge of, on the verge of something wonderful.
A resurgence, on the edge of something wonderful.
Playing with our Puppy
I felt bored that morning when I saw our puppy sleeping. Me and my brother tickled the pup while sleeping....How cruel of us! hehe ;-)
My Birthday Gift!
It was 9th of July when I went biking around our neighborhood, exactly one week after my brother had been cured of Dengue fever. I was thinking about my upcoming birthday. "Will I be sick again when my birthday comes around, like my past birthdays?" That sentence keeps playing again and again in my mind, but I remain confident that I wont be sick this coming birthday. I felt strong and energetic that day because I can easily scoot around the hilly terrain which was quite difficult if you don't have the stamina, and little did I thought that I was also gonna be diagnosed with Dengue.
July 10th I had a dream about Transformers movie. It was ugly dream, I wanted to wake up but I can't! I also noticed that I'm experiencing this grueling headache while I was dreaming and I felt like a big slab of concrete was placed over me. I know my conscience was awake but my body is still asleep. When I had gathered the strength to wake up and stand I almost fell to the ground because I'm so dizzy, it's really hard to walk! It's like you were heavily drunk. I thought that I just needed more sleep. When my mother checked me out she said that I have a very high fever! I was terrified because my brother just recently had Dengue, and when my fever didn't subside for that day and I was experiencing chills my mother decided to bring me to the hospital.
July 11th, my birthday, while we were waiting for the results of the blood test I was praying to God that hopefully I wont be diagnosed with Dengue, but all of my hope was lost when we entered the doctors room. She greeted us with bad news and, Yes, you've guessed it right! I was diagnosed with Dengue. I was immediately confined in the hospital because my platelet level was low. I prayed to God that my birthday wish was to be cured as soon as possible.
The whole week felt like a year! And every morning the doctor came in saying that my platelet levels keep dropping by the thousands. I admit that I was scared, I still don't want to die, so I keep on praying to God. The whole week was just like the past days. I felt bored and wanted to be cured immediately and I also never felt so scared my whole life. But one day while a nurse was changing my dextrose he said to us that my platelet already rose! I was really happy and so was my mom, and it was confirmed by the doctor a while later. I really felt so happy and thankful to God, My dear Mom, the Nurses and the Doctors who took care of me while I was sick. So we waited until my platelet count normalize.
When we went home I felt so happy! It's good to be back home! I really promised myself that I would be more careful when a mosquito is around and that I would clean our environment and surroundings so that mosquitoes cannot breed near our house.
